Fri 4th September: Meet Lips Read
Hi, I’m a dessert queen. Currently going through a home made apple crumble phase made entirely from scratch, but just recovered from a red velvet phase, so I’m getting better, at least now fruits are involved. As a relatively fit newly turned 33 year old I haven’t been overly concerned about my health. Outside of noticing extended hangover recovery times and the odd out of nowhere twinge here and there, I would vary between not really thinking about it to irra
Mon 7th Sept: Beware the Parasites!
I finally said yes, I was due to start. Erran had been checking in on me over the last few days with increasing urgency and by the rising levels of disapproval, I knew it was time for action. So when he called today around lunch time asking if I’d freed the necessary next day for the onslaught of the cleanse or Purge as I’d come to refer to it, I assured him I had no external meetings booked (home toilet access had been seriously recommended). My parasites had influenced me to pur
Tues 8th Sept: Hungry
Woke up ravenous today. Erran gave me a green juice and a red one - had the green one at 1pm and drank the red one later - made it last over a few hours. For my evening meal, I had salmon and veg, it was really nice. Oh yes, and Don't chew gum...apparently that's the worst.
Weds 9 Sept: Oxygen tablet
Had an Oxygen tablet at 11am. Had first juice at 1pm - spinach, pear, kale, broccoli, peach and four grapes. Also a lemon.
Thurs 10 Sept: I miss chewing :(
Juice at 1pm, fibre shots. The hunger is something that is hard to get used to. I sometimes have intense cravings for hot food I can chew. The opposite of these cold juices.
Fri 11 Sept: My first compliment :)
Had my first true triumph today. Well two actually. Saw an old friend today and he commented on how I looked slimmer - particularly in the face and thighs. He then went onto say though that I needed to continue to work on the gut - thereby undoing that fleeting shaft of overwhelming/unexpected confidence that is always the best kind. I love Tom Hardy - I’m watching him now on Alan Carr. No2 Faced a temptation in the fridge. Battled it and won. I put it back. I simply put it back.
Thurs 17 Sept: I want a Nutribullet!
So I’m on this juicing thing. My mum’s also on the program and got herself a whizzy Nutribullet and gave me her old one when I stayed up there for a few days. Grateful and all but you know when you get used to dating a model then get a downgrade to her country bumpkin cousin with bad teeth? Well that, how it was. Juice all grainy and bitty, if that’s a word.
Tues 15 Sep: #SheWhoThinsWins
My friend has started a fat group. A flash of inspiration came to me and I gave her the name - She Who Thins Wins... yes, I was pretty proud of myself too. Today was the first day, 5 other women all wanting to lose weight. I felt a bit of a cheat as I’d already started this journey earlier so have already experienced results- the clothes are less tight. We did the weigh ins - I was 11.11 My height (5'8) really does hide a multitude of sins, I tell you. The girls were cool, ev
Fri 18th Sept: 80/20 rule-HAIR CHECK
I WANT MY FRIDAY FEELING! A couple of weeks into this naturalista detox and I'm still not over cravings. My “green” juice, spinach, kale, pear, 5 strawberrys, 2 kiwis. Maybe too much fruit. Not quite adhering to the 80/20 veg to fruit ratio eh? HAIR CHECK: Also thought I’d make this a hair growth journey too-see if all this greenery and foliage can bolster the old follicles. I did the big chop in November last year I finally clued up to the fact I was clinging on to an overprocessed mess of
